Federal agencies are warning hospitals and healthcare providers about an eminent and significant ransomware attack. While the RYUK ransomware is not industry-specific, healthcare providers appear to have been targeted. The FBI has gone so far as suggesting that non-essential IT systems be removed from internet access. The ransomware can achieve domain-wide encryption in as little as five hours.
